As someone who is half Sundanese, I created REKA to represent a part of my cultural identity by reinterpreting traditional Sundanese script through modern digital design. Built on a 24×24 grid, the typeface transforms traditional forms into geometric letterforms. Embracing the limitations of the grid, REKA explores the relationship between cultural heritage, lo-fi aesthetics and modern typography.
