Totem

I began my concept for ‘Totem’ with thinking about rebirth and symbolism surrounding eyes. I thought about religion before moving towards Indigenous beliefs. I built the font from shapes and forms which I had found from the images of Totem poles that I had studied. The circles within each letter are a reflection of the eyes found carved onto Totem poles, full of history and a way of being connected to heritage.
